Jessica recently moved to Montgomery from Mobile, where she served as Executive Director of McKemie Place (www.mckemieplace.org) from July 2014 to October 2018. Prior to McKemie Place, she worked in workforce development for Bishop State Community College and economic development for ADECA through a special appointment from Governor Bob Riley. Jessica was also the governmental liaison for the Mobile County Commission on the BP oil spill in 2010. Prior to working for Governor Riley, Jessica worked as a public relations associate for The University of Alabama System in Tuscaloosa, and for Phase Two Strategies in New York, New York.
She is also very active in the community, currently serving as Board Member of the Low Income Housing Coalition of Alabama (LIHCA), and an active with the Junior League of Montgomery. Jessica has been a candidate for City Council (Tuscaloosa, 2005), State School Board (District 1, 2012) and United States Congress (AL-01, 2013).
Ms. James earned both her Bachelor of Arts in Communications and Master of Public Administration degrees from The University of Alabama. She came to us from Trinity Episcopal Church in Mobile.
