Music Ministries
Music ministries at The Episcopal Church of the Ascension provide leadership for worship and offer parishioners the opportunity for Christian service, spiritual growth, and musical education.Music at Church of the Ascension is offered to the glory of God and Him only. Through music we obey God’s instructions to sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs and praise Him with instruments. In the process, we experience music’s power to transcend the temporal, thereby connecting us to our pasts, through thanksgiving and repentance, and to our futures through hope. As an integral part of our worship, music enhances scriptural teaching and provides opportunities for ministry by those who are called to participate in the music program, from the youngest of us to the oldest. By dedication and rehearsal, we seek to perfect our praises and to glimpse God’s beauty and he blesses our ministries.
Regular worship services at Church of the Ascension are at 8:00 and 10:15 am on Sunday mornings and 5:15 pm on
Wednesday evenings. Vocal and instrumental soloists offer music at the 8:00 service and the Ascension Choir provides leadership at the 10:15 service. Singers and instrumentalists lead the Wednesday evening service, which includes various musical styles, teaching and communion.
