Anglican/Episcopal Identity

Anglican/Episcopal Identity: This class teaches you about the Episcopal Church and the Anglican Communion. This stage consists of a series of classes. The first focus on theology, history and worship of the Anglican tradition. The classes include: Anglican History: Our Anglican Origins and Development; Anglican Worship: The Book of Common Prayer – Lex Orandi/Lex Credendi (Praying Shapes Believing); Anglican Belief: The Creeds; The Sacraments: Christ’s Visible Presence in the Church, and; Instructed Eucharist.

The next classes focus on What We Believe as Christians: These classes introduce you to the basics of Christian faith. The classes cover the following subjects: Creation and the Love of God; Revelation and Covenant: The Holy Scriptures; What is Faith?; Jesus Christ ;The Holy Spirit ; The Church; Evil, Sin and Salvation, and; The Last Things: Death, Judgment, Heaven and Hell.??The next class is one focusing on Charisms: This class seeks to identify your spiritual gifts and discern how you may use them in the service of God at The Ascension and the larger community.

Assignment for Sunday 4/1/2012 - Read pages 52-57 in Confirmation book - we will discuss the Creeds. We will not meet on Easter Sunday.
