WELCOME Milton Lewis Angel Tree
Each year the Ascension helps children in need at Christmas through the Milton Lewis Memorial Angel Tree. Milton Lewis started this ministry years ago and we continue in his example to reach out in the name of Christ to those in need. This program collects names from social service organizations in the Montgomery of those in need of assistance so that their children will receive presents at Christmas.
The individuals and families (with item needs, ages and sizes) are then adopted by members of the Ascension. The adopting sponsor has the choice of funding an "angel" and shopping for the gifts, or simply funding an "angel." Those adopting individuals who want to go shopping, and those standing in for those unable to make it, then meet on the first Saturday of December with others and head to Toys-R-Us to purchase gifts. The gifts are then distributed to the individuals through the social service organizations providing names. Please consider helping a child who would otherwise not have items they need this Christmas through the Angel Tree.
