Each morning during the work week, at least a handful of people gather in the church for Morning Prayer. While the Eucharist is the principle Sunday Service, daily Morning Prayer is a daily opportunity to fit rhythms of prayer and reflection on Scripture into our otherwise hectic, busy lives. A simpler service, nonetheless, it is at the heart of the Anglican life of worship and prayer. People who participate in Morning Prayer often comment on how refreshed they are as they start their day; in the words of Psalm 122, “I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord”.

Each Wednesday evening, Church of the Ascension also offers a mid-week Eucharist. More quiet and meditative than our Sunday morning services, this Eucharist is part of the faith formation and fellowship program we offer on Wednesday evenings. It is a way of preparing ourselves for the kind of lively, transforming conversation that is possible when people of a faith community gather to learn, reflect and talk about their faith and spiritual journey.
