Morning Prayer

Where: In the Chapel on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Tuesdays Sung Morning Prayer is in the Chancel (all at 8:00 am)

Each Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, at least a handful of people gather in the church for Morning Prayer. While the Eucharist is the principle Sunday Service, daily Morning Prayer is a daily opportunity to fit rhythms of prayer and reflection on Scripture into our otherwise hectic, busy lives. A simpler service, nonetheless, it is at the heart of the Anglican life of worship and prayer.

People who participate in Morning Prayer often comment on how refreshed they are as they start their day; in the words of Psalm 122, “I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord."

Thursday Healing Eucharist

Where: In the Chapel (8:00 am)

On Thursday mornings, a healing Eucharist is offered in the Chapel. This service of healing is offered for any who feel the need for healing of spirit, mind, or body. It offers the sacrament of unction: the rite of anointing the sick with oil, and laying on of hands, by which God's grace is given for healing. It reminds us that as long as breath remains in us, God is calling us to participate in His work of reconciliation in the world. The service also includes the "Litany of Healing," which are prayers offered for those who are sick and hurting, as well as those who care for them.

The service concludes with the Eucharist. This sacramental liturgy is also a sacrament of healing in that we experience an encounter with Christ who cares for our souls.
