Family Photos Being Taken for Online Directory
May 18: No Pressure Sales Pitch - No Appointments - No Waiting
We are taking the photos in-house this year in order to avoid the waiting and pressure to purchase associated with past experiences. This also allows us to update pictures on a regular basis and post them to our web database Libby Weatherly and Emily Thomas are taking pictures for our Parish Directory in the Waldo Garden. They will be in the garden from 9:00-10:00 a.m. and after the 10:15 a.m. service. We will be set up to take pictures each Sunday at the same times on May 4 and May 18. We will put these pictures in our Parish Directory and post them in a password protected part of our website (www.coascension.org). These are casual pictures designed to put faces with names. These are not formal portraits, so don't worry if you are not in your "Sunday best." We want everyone to participate. You may do so by simply dropping by the Waldo Garden on Sunday for a few minutes.

Men's Prayer Breakfast Studies the Beatitudes
|
The Beatitudes sit at the beginning of the greatest sermon ever preached-the Sermon on the Mount. They form the foundation of important teachings that Jesus conveys to his disciples early in his ministry. Many say that these eight sayings give us clear insight into the very character of our Lord and the characteristics of what God wants us to be and do. Others say that within the Beatitudes we will find the key to Christian happiness. But, the words are confusing to modern ears. It is easy to get lost in the way they turn our expectations upside down. Join John Coleman in May and June as he explores the Beatitudes and discover new insight on what it means to be blessed.

Parents & Youth Needed for Summer Children's Sunday School
|
The Children’s Morning Activity during the summer will start Sunday, June 1, at 9:15 a.m. in the First and Second Grade Classroom. (see children’s section for description of curriculum).
We will be asking youth and parent teams to sign up for a Sunday or two in June and August to teach and lead a class. Lessons will be fun and easy to prepare. The children look up to our young people very much and will be very excited to interact with and learn from them. Our young people will have the opportunity to share in the community life of helping young brothers and sisters in their Christian lives and learning. Watch for more information from Tiffany and Jonathan about this exciting program. |
